Everard Read Cape Town presents a group exhibition, ‘In Conversation’, which asks artists and audience to engage with artworks as relational, collaborative and situated modes of making meaning, rather than isolated objects.
Gallery artists invited friends, acquaintances or even strangers to produce an artwork to pair with one of their own. The resulting mirroring, tensions and explorations used palette, shared histories, themes and subject matters to create pairs of artworks which function in conversation with each other, allowing for more nuanced perspectives on each artist’s practice.
